The TransTunisia Trekking Trail (4T) project is an innovative eco-tourism initiative designed to showcase the stunning natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage of Tunisia. Funded by the European Union and BMZ under the Tounes Wijhetouna Programme, and implemented in partnership with GIZ Tunisie, our mission is to develop a world-class trekking trail that attracts adventure tourists from around the globe.
Public Sector Engagement
We actively collaborate with governmental institutions to ensure compliance with laws, effectively plan infrastructural facilities such as trails and amenities, and meticulously zone these areas to optimize visitor experiences while preserving natural environments.
Private Sector Support
We provide targeted capacity-building and financial support for MSMEs in tourism services like lodging, transportation, catering, and local artifact production, fostering economic growth and sustainability.
Civil Society Oversight
Our commitment includes rigorous monitoring of tourist activities to minimize environmental impact, as well as steadfast dedication to safeguarding Tunisia's rich cultural heritage and natural resources for future generations.
Community and Stakeholder Collaboration
We actively engage with local communities and stakeholders to foster a collaborative approach towards sustainable tourism practices, ensuring that the benefits of tourism are equitably distributed and that cultural integrity is maintained.
At TransTunisia, we envision a future where Tunisia is recognized as a premier destination for adventure tourism. Our trail spans across the diverse terrains of northern Tunisia, from the rugged mountains of Zaghouan to the historic landscapes of El Kef.
